Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CNC Machinist to join one of our premier client’s manufacturing teams in Duvernay, Laval. This is an exceptional opportunity for an English-speaking professional to leverage their expertise in a dynamic, high-tech environment. As a CNC Machinist, you will be instrumental in producing high-quality components for various industries, operating state-of-the-art Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinery. Your daily tasks will involve precision machining, ensuring all products meet stringent quality standards and specifications. Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain CNC milling or turning machines, including loading programs, tools, and fixtures, for the precise machining of various materials.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and G-code/M-code programs to determine machining operations and sequences.
  • Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, making adjustments as necessary to ensure part quality.
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify dimensions against specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic machine alarms, tooling issues, and program errors.
  • Complete routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to optimize processes and achieve production goals.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CNC Machinist in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in setting up and operating 3-axis (or more) CNC milling or turning machines.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Solid understanding of G-code and M-code programming; ability to perform minor program edits.
  • Expertise in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and bore gauges.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and quality control.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal, for effective communication.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational diploma or equivalent certification in Machining, Industrial Mechanics, or a related field.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM) is a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc, Haas, or Siemens controls.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
