Career.zycto is actively seeking a diligent and highly professional Security Officer to join our client’s dedicated team in Haxby, York. Key Responsibilities
- Patrol designated areas on foot or by vehicle, regularly inspecting premises for security breaches, hazards, and suspicious activities.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras, to detect and prevent security threats.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, following established protocols.
- Control access to premises, verifying credentials of visitors, contractors, and staff.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations in detailed reports.
- Liaise with emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) when necessary and provide assistance as required.
- Enforce company policies and procedures to ensure a safe and secure environment for all.
- Provide excellent customer service, assisting visitors and staff with directions and information while maintaining a professional demeanour.
- Conduct routine checks of security systems, equipment, and perimeter fences to ensure optimal functionality.
- Undertake bag and vehicle searches as per company policy and legal requirements.
Required Skills
- SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding license (valid and current)
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) with excellent communication skills
- Proven experience as a Security Officer or in a similar security role
- Strong observational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to operate CCTV and access control systems
- Proficiency in writing clear and concise reports
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Basic first aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a corporate or retail security environment
- Full UK Driving License
- Advanced First Aid certification
- Conflict Resolution training
