Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Power Tool Repair Technician to join our team in Hope Bay, Portland Parish. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of power tools, ensuring they meet our high standards of safety and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in various power tools, including corded, cordless, and pneumatic types.
- Perform skilled repairs, replacements, and maintenance on power tool components such as motors, switches, gears, and batteries.
- Conduct thorough testing of repaired tools to ensure full functionality, safety, and adherence to manufacturer specifications.
- Provide accurate cost estimates and timelines for repairs to customers, explaining technical issues in an understandable manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment, adhering to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Manage inventory of repair parts and order necessary components in a timely manner.
- Document all repair work, including parts used, time spent, and final test results.
- Stay updated on new power tool technologies, repair techniques, and safety regulations.
- Offer technical advice and support to customers regarding tool operation, maintenance, and proper usage.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in power tool repair or a related mechanical/electrical field.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy tools and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification or diploma in electronics, mechanics, or a related trade.
- Experience with a variety of power tool brands and models (e.g., DeWalt, Makita, Bosch, Milwaukee).
- Familiarity with rental equipment maintenance and repair procedures.
- Valid Jamaican driver's license.
