As a Reservoir Engineer with Career.zycto, you will be instrumental in the full lifecycle of reservoir management, from initial appraisal and characterization to production forecasting and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, calibrate, and maintain reservoir simulation models to forecast production and optimize recovery strategies.
- Conduct comprehensive reservoir characterization studies, including fluid analysis, petrophysical interpretation, and geological integration.
- Perform reserves estimation and classification in accordance with industry standards (e.g., PRMS), providing robust justifications for classifications.
- Design and evaluate field development plans, infill drilling programs, and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) projects.
- Monitor and analyze reservoir performance data, identify production trends, and recommend corrective actions or optimization opportunities.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders, clearly communicating complex reservoir engineering concepts and recommendations.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including geoscientists, drilling engineers, and economists to ensure integrated project planning and execution.
Required Skills
- Master's or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Reservoir Engineer in the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in commercial reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, CMG, Petrel RE).
- Strong understanding of fluid flow in porous media, material balance, and decline curve analysis.
- Expertise in reserves estimation methodologies and reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada or eligible for registration.
- Experience with unconventional reservoirs (e.g., shale, tight oil/gas) or carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or MATLAB for data analysis and automation.
- Project management experience within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
