Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine patrols of the premises to deter theft, vandalism, and other unlawful activities, ensuring a safe environment for customers and staff.
  • Observe and identify suspicious activities or individuals, reporting findings promptly and accurately to management and security personnel.
  • Assist in apprehending and detaining individuals involved in theft or other criminal acts, following established protocols, legal guidelines, and company policies.
  • Prepare detailed and concise incident reports, documenting observations, actions taken, witness statements, and evidence collected accurately.
  • Monitor CCTV surveillance systems and other electronic security equipment to detect and prevent loss, identifying potential security breaches.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies when necessary to provide information, prosecute offenders, and ensure adherence to legal procedures.
  • Educate employees on loss prevention policies and procedures, fostering a culture of vigilance and awareness regarding asset protection.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations such as medical incidents, fires, or security breaches, ensuring the safety of all individuals.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all ongoing investigations, sensitive information, and security protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures related to loss prevention, safety, and operational standards.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent observational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to report incidents clearly.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and composed in high-stress or confrontational situations.
  • Basic computer proficiency for report writing, data entry, and surveillance monitoring.
  • Demonstrated integrity, honesty, and a strong ethical compass.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, patrol, and lift moderate weights for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in customer service, retail, security, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of local laws and regulations pertaining to theft, apprehension, and civil recovery.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Ability to operate various security equipment (e.g., CCTV, handheld radios, access control systems).
