Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement optimal manufacturing processes and systems.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve production bottlenecks and quality issues using root cause analysis.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize cycle times.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for manufacturing processes, including SOPs and work instructions.
- Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Production teams to ensure successful new product introductions and process transfers.
- Evaluate and select new equipment, tools, and technologies to enhance production capabilities.
- Conduct capacity planning, facility layout, and material flow analysis.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on process performance, identifying areas for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental policies.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in a cross-functional team.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- P.Eng. designation or eligibility for professional engineering registration in Canada.
- Experience with automation systems, robotics, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
- Project management experience, including PMP certification.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
