Job Description
Career.zycto is actively seeking an exceptionally skilled and dedicated Site Supervisor to oversee construction projects within Mandera County, Kenya. This pivotal role calls for a seasoned builder with a robust background in managing diverse construction sites, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. As a Site Supervisor, you will be the linchpin between project plans and on-ground execution, leading a team of skilled workers and subcontractors. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Manage and motivate construction teams, including skilled laborers, artisans, and subcontractors, promoting a culture of safety and efficiency.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations (OSHA, local standards).
- Interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and engineering specifications to guide construction teams effectively.
- Oversee material procurement, storage, and usage, minimizing waste and ensuring timely availability.
- Implement and enforce comprehensive health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on site.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, progress reports, material inventories, and incident reports.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to provide updates and resolve technical or operational challenges.
- Train and mentor junior staff, fostering skill development within the team.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in construction site supervision, specifically in building projects.
- Proven ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making under pressure.
- Valid driving license and ability to operate in Mandera County.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in Construction Safety (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH).
- Experience with construction management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of local Mandera County construction regulations and cultural nuances.
