Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and feeding, always maintaining dignity and respect.
- Provide mobility support, assisting patients with transfers, repositioning, and ambulation safely and comfortably.
- Monitor and accurately document vital signs, fluid intake and output, and report any significant changes in patient condition to supervising nurses.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to patients, engaging them in conversation and encouraging their independence.
- Assist with light housekeeping duties within the patient care areas as required.
- Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and ethical standards, prioritizing patient confidentiality and rights.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a recognized Healthcare Assistant (HCA), Nursing (LPN/RN), or other relevant healthcare program.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated patience, reliability, and a strong commitment to providing quality patient care.
- Basic computer literacy for documentation and communication.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous volunteer or paid experience in a caregiving, customer service, or healthcare-related setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification.
