Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbine generators and associated equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults efficiently and accurately.
- Execute repairs, replacements, and upgrades of turbine components, adhering strictly to technical specifications and safety protocols.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to identify potential issues and ensure optimal turbine performance.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and operational manuals.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and component changes.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations (HSE) at all times.
- Collaborate with site management and other technicians to optimize work schedules and share technical knowledge.
- Participate in safety briefings, training sessions, and continuous professional development programs.
- Operate specialized tools and equipment safely and effectively.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Wind Turbine Technician or in a related heavy industrial maintenance role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to diagnose complex faults using technical manuals and diagnostic tools.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Demonstrable commitment to health and safety procedures and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively at heights and in confined spaces.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant vocational qualification or technical degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance.
- GWO (Global Wind Organisation) Basic Safety Training certification (Working at Heights, First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, Sea Survival if applicable).
- Experience with specific turbine manufacturers (e.g., Vestas, Siemens Gamesa, GE, Nordex).
- High Voltage (HV) authorization experience.
- Previous experience working in an international or multicultural team.
- Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting certifications.
