Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as an Entry-Level Behavioral Therapist in Downtown Toronto. This is an exciting opportunity for new graduates or those beginning their career in the field of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and related behavioral therapies. As a Behavioral Therapist, you will play a crucial role in providing direct client care, implementing individualized treatment plans, and collecting data under the supervision of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). We are committed to fostering a supportive learning environment where you can develop your clinical skills, gain invaluable experience, and contribute to meaningful outcomes for our diverse client base. This role involves working with individuals across various age groups, primarily within clinical or community settings, focusing on skill acquisition, behavior reduction, and improving overall quality of life. Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure you are well-equipped to succeed and grow within our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and skill acquisition programs as developed by a supervising BCBA.
  • Provide direct one-on-one or small group therapy to clients in clinical, home, or community settings.
  • Accurately collect and record data on client progress and behaviors, meticulously following established protocols.
  • Actively participate in supervision meetings, team discussions, and ongoing training sessions.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, families, and team members, maintaining confidentiality.
  • Maintain a safe, engaging, and therapeutic environment for all clients.
  • Adhere to all ethical guidelines and professional standards set forth by relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Assist with the preparation of therapy materials and resources as needed.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred or currently enrolled in a relevant program).
  • Genuine passion for working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong observational and analytical abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive, resilient attitude.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and documentation.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and vulnerable sector screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Previous volunteer or paid experience working with individuals with special needs.
  • Knowledge of the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Bilingualism (English and French, or other relevant languages) is an asset.
