Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Fund Accountant to join our thriving financial operations team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This full-time, on-site position offers a fantastic opportunity for a professional passionate about investment accounting, eager to contribute significantly to our fund administration services. As a Fund Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, NAV calculations, and overall financial reporting for a variety of investment funds. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations for assigned funds.
- Perform reconciliation of cash, positions, and trades with prime brokers, custodians, and counterparties.
- Process and review investment transactions, including purchases, sales, income, and corporate actions.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and regulatory filings (e.g., N-PORT, N-CEN) as required.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with fund governing documents, investment guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Maintain accurate fund records and documentation, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Support ad-hoc requests and projects related to fund accounting and financial reporting.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in fund accounting operations.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in fund accounting, investment accounting, or financial services.
- Strong understanding of investment instruments (equities, fixed income, derivatives) and fund structures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification or progress towards certification.
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience with fund accounting software (e.g., Advent Geneva, PFS-PAXUS, BlackRock Aladdin).
- Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting principles applicable to investment companies.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting for investment funds.
