Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for various projects, ensuring compliance with relevant UK/European standards (e.g., BS, EN, IEC) and best practices.
  • Conduct detailed electrical calculations, simulations, and analyses to support design decisions and optimize system performance.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical specifications, drawings, schematics, and reports for electrical installations and modifications.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, project managers, and clients to integrate electrical systems within larger project scopes.
  • Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical equipment, ensuring safety protocols and quality controls are strictly adhered to.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical issues, diagnose faults, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Participate in project planning, risk assessment, and resource allocation to ensure successful project execution from conception to completion.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes in electrical engineering, applying new knowledge to enhance project outcomes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and professional excellence.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, presenting technical information clearly and concisely.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited US institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in electrical design, engineering, or project management.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical) and electrical simulation tools.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70E, and an ability to quickly learn UK/European equivalents).
  • Experience with power distribution, control systems, instrumentation, and industrial automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with renewable energy systems or smart grid technologies.
