Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex network architectures (LAN, WAN, WLAN).
- Monitor network performance, ensuring high availability, security, and reliability of all network services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network-related issues promptly and efficiently, minimizing downtime.
- Configure and manage network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
- Implement and enforce network security policies and procedures, protecting against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Perform regular network upgrades, patching, and capacity planning to accommodate future growth and technological advancements.
- Collaborate closely with other IT teams (systems, applications, security) to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of network services.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for critical network support, as needed, to ensure 24/7 operational continuity.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, VLANs, and VPN technologies.
- Proficiency with enterprise-level networking equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or Aruba.
- Extensive experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG).
- In-depth knowledge of network security principles, including firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet), IDS/IPS, and access control lists (ACLs).
- Familiarity with network virtualization and cloud networking concepts (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure VNet).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills with a methodical approach.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical information clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent.
- Experience with scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible) for network configuration and management.
- Knowledge of VoIP and unified communications systems (e.g., Cisco Call Manager, Microsoft Teams Voice).
- Experience with SD-WAN technologies and implementations.
- Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices for service management.
