Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility.
- Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration) accurately and report changes.
- Help patients with personal hygiene, including skin care, oral care, and incontinence management.
- Assist with patient transfers and ambulation using appropriate safety measures and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, relaying observations and concerns.
- Document patient care activities, observations, and changes in condition according to established protocols.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and requests, ensuring timely assistance.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a comfortable and respectful atmosphere.
- Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including infection control.
Required Skills
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Louisiana.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting (e.g., hospital, long-term care, home health).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition patients safely.
- Excellent observational and reporting abilities.
- Compassion, empathy, and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Reliability and strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
