Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech, language, voice, and swallowing assessments for a diverse client population.
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.
  • Provide direct therapy services, utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques and resources.
  • Accurately document client progress, maintain meticulous records, and prepare reports.
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure holistic care.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, case conferences, and contribute to a collaborative learning environment.
  • Adhere to professional and ethical standards, maintaining client confidentiality and respecting cultural diversity.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology.

Required Skills

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or eligibility to register.
  • Demonstrated foundational knowledge of speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective client and team interaction.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a professional team setting.
  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation and communication.
  • Commitment to ethical practice and client-centered care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of diverse clinical placements during academic training (e.g., paediatric, adult, acute care, community).
  • Familiarity with various assessment tools and therapeutic interventions.
  • Experience or interest in working with specific populations (e.g., neurological conditions, developmental delays).
  • Bilingual abilities or proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL).
