As a Gas Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of gas infrastructure, ensuring compliance with all Canadian safety standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, install, commission, and maintain gas systems and appliances in accordance with Canadian regulations and industry best practices.
  • Conduct thorough inspections, diagnostic tests, and repairs on gas pipelines, meters, regulators, and related equipment.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all gas infrastructure.
  • Respond to emergency call-outs and resolve gas-related issues promptly and safely.
  • Prepare detailed reports, schematics, and documentation for projects and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other team members to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry advancements.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Gas Engineer or similar role
  • Strong understanding of Canadian gas codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., CSA B149 Series)
  • Proficiency in gas system design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada or eligibility for registration
  • Experience with various types of gas systems (natural gas, propane, industrial gases)
  • Familiarity with advanced gas detection and monitoring equipment
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Relevant trade certification (e.g., Gasfitter A or B) in Nova Scotia or equivalent provincial certification
