Key Responsibilities
- Conduct archaeological fieldwork, including excavation, survey, and monitoring, adhering to professional standards and safety protocols.
- Perform accurate site recording through drawings, photography, and detailed written notes, ensuring comprehensive data capture.
- Undertake post-excavation analysis of artefacts and environmental samples, contributing to chronological and contextual understanding.
- Prepare high-quality archaeological reports, assessments, and publications for various stakeholders and academic dissemination.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
- Utilise GIS and other digital tools for data management, mapping, and spatial analysis.
- Contribute to the identification and mitigation of archaeological risks during development projects.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field from an accredited American university.
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable archaeological fieldwork experience in North America.
- Proficiency in archaeological excavation techniques and stratigraphy.
- Strong report writing and technical communication skills.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in challenging outdoor environments.
- Valid UK driving license or willingness to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Archaeology.
- Experience with specific North American archaeological methodologies or theoretical frameworks applicable to UK contexts.
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and other digital archaeological tools.
