Job Description
Are you a seasoned professional with a passion for ensuring the robustness and effectiveness of complex solutions? Botswana Meat Commission (BMC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Solution Validation Specialist to join our thriving team in Lobatse. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in evaluating, testing, and validating a diverse range of business, operational, and technological solutions before their deployment. This includes everything from new software implementations and system upgrades to process improvements and infrastructure changes across our extensive value chain. You will work closely with project managers, business analysts, IT teams, and various departmental stakeholders to define validation strategies, develop comprehensive test plans, and execute rigorous testing cycles. Your expertise will guarantee that our solutions meet stringent functional requirements, performance standards, security protocols, and most importantly, align with BMC’s strategic objectives and operational needs. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive validation strategies and plans for various solutions (software, hardware, processes).
- Design, execute, and document test cases, scenarios, and scripts to ensure solutions meet specified requirements.
- Perform thorough functional, performance, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
- Identify, log, track, and re-test defects, working closely with development and implementation teams for resolution.
- Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and end-users to understand requirements and translate them into validation criteria.
- Develop and maintain validation documentation, including test plans, test reports, and traceability matrices.
- Provide expert guidance and support to junior validation specialists and other team members.
- Ensure all validation activities comply with internal standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze test results, prepare detailed reports, and present findings to stakeholders.
- Participate in requirement gathering and design reviews to provide early input on testability and validation considerations.
- Stay abreast of new technologies, methodologies, and tools in solution validation and quality assurance.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in solution validation, quality assurance, or a related field.
- Proven expertise in developing and executing comprehensive test plans and strategies.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and various testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
- Experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, ALM).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple validation projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, CSM, PMP).
- Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
- Familiarity with database querying (SQL) for data validation.
- Experience in the manufacturing, agricultural, or food processing industry.
- Knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems like SAP or similar.
