Job Description
We are seeking a highly vigilant and dedicated Full-Time Security CCTV Monitor to join our professional security team at The Residence Zanzibar. In this pivotal role, you will be the eyes and ears of our resort’s security operations, responsible for continuous surveillance of all designated areas through our advanced closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems. Your primary objective will be to proactively identify, monitor, and report any suspicious activities, security breaches, or potential hazards that could impact the safety and security of our guests, staff, and property. This role demands exceptional attention to detail, quick thinking, and the ability to maintain focus over extended periods. You will play a crucial part in preventing incidents, responding swiftly to emergencies, and ensuring a secure and serene environment that aligns with our luxury resort standards. Key Responsibilities
- Perform continuous, real-time monitoring of all CCTV cameras covering resort premises, including guest areas, back-of-house, perimeters, and critical infrastructure.
- Proactively identify and report any unusual activities, unauthorized entries, security breaches, or potential safety hazards to the Security Manager promptly.
- Operate and manage CCTV equipment, including recording, playback, and archiving of footage as required for investigations or evidence.
- Maintain detailed and accurate logs of all incidents, observations, and actions taken during shifts.
- Assist in directing security personnel to areas requiring immediate attention based on CCTV observations.
- Respond to alarms and emergency situations by coordinating with internal security teams and external emergency services as per established protocols.
- Ensure the operational readiness of all CCTV equipment, reporting any malfunctions or technical issues for prompt resolution.
- Adhere strictly to data protection and privacy policies when handling surveillance footage.
- Conduct periodic system checks and generate daily reports on surveillance activities.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments to address security-related concerns and uphold the resort's safety standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a CCTV Monitor or in a similar security surveillance role.
- Proficiency in operating various CCTV systems and surveillance software.
- Exceptional observation skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to maintain high levels of concentration and vigilance for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for accurate reporting.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Sound judgment and ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hospitality or resort security environment.
- Certification in security operations or surveillance techniques.
- Basic First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of local security regulations and protocols.
- Ability to communicate in Swahili is a significant advantage.
