Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans for students across various subjects (e.g., Mathematics, English, Sciences).
- Provide one-on-one academic support, clarification, and enrichment tailored to student needs.
- Assess student progress regularly, identify areas for improvement, and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes student confidence and engagement.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and instructional strategies.
- Prepare students for tests, exams, and academic milestones.
- Maintain accurate records of sessions, student performance, and learning materials used.
- Stay updated with curriculum changes and educational best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching a range of subjects (Math, English, Sciences).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Patience, empathy, and ability to motivate students.
- Deep subject matter expertise in at least two core academic areas.
- Reliable transportation to student homes in Lavington, Nairobi.
- Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, a relevant academic field, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Teaching certification or diploma.
- Experience with different age groups and learning styles.
- Familiarity with the Kenyan national curriculum (CBC).
- First Aid certification.
