Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Linux System Administrator to join our dynamic and fully remote team. As a core member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the health, stability, and performance of our critical Linux-based systems. This role demands a proactive individual who can not only troubleshoot complex issues but also contribute significantly to the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure. You will work with cutting-edge technologies, automate routine tasks, and ensure our systems are resilient against evolving threats and demands. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable Linux infrastructure.
  • Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, including network, storage, and application-level problems.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (Bash, Python, Ansible) to streamline operational tasks.
  • Manage and secure server configurations, user access, and compliance policies.
  • Implement and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize application deployment and performance.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical systems.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in system administration and security.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
  • Expertise in shell scripting (Bash) and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Firewalls).
  • Proficiency with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Solid knowledge of security best practices for Linux systems.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, or equivalent.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
  • Knowledge of database administration (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with version control systems (Git).
