Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and astute Vulnerability Analyst to join our growing cybersecurity team in Hintonburg, Ottawa. Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests on networks, applications, and systems.
- Analyze vulnerability scan results, identify false positives, and prioritize findings based on risk.
- Develop detailed reports outlining vulnerabilities, potential impacts, and recommended remediation steps.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and IT teams to facilitate vulnerability remediation and track progress.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Contribute to incident response activities as needed, providing expert analysis of security events.
- Evaluate and recommend new security tools and technologies to enhance our security capabilities.
- Participate in security awareness training initiatives for internal staff.
- Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in cybersecurity, specifically in vulnerability management or analysis.
- Proficiency with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, OpenVAS).
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and web application security.
- Experience with penetration testing methodologies and tools (e.g., Kali Linux, Metasploit, Burp Suite).
- Solid knowledge of common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVEs) and attack vectors.
- Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development in cybersecurity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
