Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with routine inspections of premises and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
  • Coordinate and track minor repairs, maintenance tasks, and service requests with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Support the setup and takedown for internal meetings, events, and workshops, including basic AV equipment setup.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of office supplies, cleaning materials, and general facility equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to workplace health and safety protocols, assisting in identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members on various operational projects and initiatives.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to facility-related inquiries and requests from staff and visitors.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Help manage incoming and outgoing deliveries, ensuring proper storage and distribution.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness drills and procedures as required.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (university or college).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, email).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proactive problem-solving aptitude and a keen eye for detail.
  • Physical ability to perform routine tasks, including lifting up to 25 lbs (11 kg) occasionally.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Facilities Management, Engineering Technology, Hospitality, or a related discipline.
  • Previous volunteer or paid experience in an office, retail, or operational support role.
  • Familiarity with basic workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Experience with scheduling software or facility management systems is an asset but not required.
  • A valid G driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle could be beneficial for occasional tasks.
