Key Responsibilities
- Collect and sort waste and recycling materials from designated residential or commercial areas.
- Operate and maintain assigned equipment and vehicles safely and efficiently (training provided).
- Assist with manual loading and unloading of refuse and recycling bins.
- Perform routine checks and minor maintenance on equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
- Interact professionally and courteously with colleagues and the public.
- Participate in ongoing training and safety refreshers.
- Support special waste collection events or initiatives as required.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution or high school.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid G Class Driver’s License with a clean driving record (an asset, but not mandatory).
- Previous experience in a physical labour role or outdoor work environment.
- Familiarity with waste management practices or environmental awareness.
- Availability for flexible hours, including some early mornings or occasional weekends.
