Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in and successfully complete all aspects of the Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training program.
- Learn and adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Master safe driving techniques for various road conditions and vehicle types.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment as instructed.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and other required paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members.
- Safely load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing techniques are applied (once trained).
- Operate company vehicles in a safe, efficient, and professional manner upon CDL attainment.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to safety.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of a truck driver, including lifting and standing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience operating large vehicles (non-CDL).
