Key Responsibilities
- Patrol designated areas on foot or in a vehicle to deter and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, equipment, and access points; permit entry.
- Respond to alarms and emergency situations in a timely and professional manner, assessing and de-escalating conflicts as necessary.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Enforce rules, regulations, and policies to maintain order and prevent crime.
- Provide assistance to employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information and incidents.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Maryland Security Guard License
- Excellent observational and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to operate security equipment and systems
- Proficiency in basic computer applications
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military service
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Experience with report writing and incident documentation software
