Career.zycto is seeking a compassionate and skilled Part-Time Art Therapist to join our dedicated team in the vibrant West End of Vancouver. As an Art Therapist at Career.zycto, you will be instrumental in providing person-centred care, adapting your approach to meet the diverse needs of our clients. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial assessments to determine client needs and develop individualized art therapy treatment plans.
  • Facilitate engaging and therapeutic individual and group art therapy sessions for diverse client populations.
  • Utilize a variety of art materials and techniques (e.g., painting, drawing, sculpture, collage) to promote emotional expression and insight.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including progress notes and treatment summaries, in compliance with ethical guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other mental health professionals and team members to ensure integrated and holistic client care.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, within the scope of practice.
  • Educate clients and their families about the benefits and process of art therapy.
  • Participate in team meetings, clinical supervision, and professional development activities.

Required Skills

  • Master's degree in Art Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Registered Art Therapist (ATR) or Provisional Registered Art Therapist (ATR-P) or equivalent certification/registration with a recognized professional body (e.g., BCATA, CATA).
  • Minimum 2 years of post-graduate clinical experience in art therapy.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective art therapy treatment plans.
  • Strong understanding of psychological theories, developmental stages, and mental health diagnoses.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and empathy skills.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with specific populations (e.g., youth, trauma survivors, seniors).
  • Bilingualism (e.g., English and French, or other relevant languages for Vancouver's diverse population).
  • Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities beyond art therapy (e.g., CBT, DBT).
  • Active membership in a professional art therapy association.
  • Experience in a private practice or community mental health setting.
