Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to assess patient functional abilities and needs.
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to patient goals.
- Provide direct patient care using a variety of therapeutic exercises, activities, and modalities.
- Educate patients and their families/caregivers on therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, and home exercise programs.
- Accurately and timely document patient progress, treatment outcomes, and billing information in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, physical therapists, and speech-language pathologists, to ensure holistic patient care.
- Participate actively in supervision and mentorship activities, seeking guidance and feedback to enhance clinical skills.
- Maintain strict compliance with all professional, ethical, and regulatory standards for occupational therapy practice.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive clinic environment focused on patient well-being and team collaboration.
Required Skills
- Doctorate or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current or eligible for Occupational Therapy licensure in the state of Maryland.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) for effective patient and team interaction.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an integral part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Fundamental understanding of occupational therapy principles, assessment tools, and intervention techniques.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for caseload management and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of diverse fieldwork experiences during academic program.
- Membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus, but not required.
