Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior astronomers with data collection from various observatories and telescopes.
  • Process and analyze astronomical data using specialized software (e.g., Python, R, IDL, IRAF).
  • Conduct literature reviews to support ongoing research projects and deepen understanding of specific topics.
  • Contribute to the preparation of scientific reports, presentations, and potentially peer-reviewed publications.
  • Maintain and organize research data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for team members.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, scientific discussions, and journal clubs.
  • Learn and apply scientific programming techniques for data manipulation and visualization.
  • Assist with basic calibration and maintenance of astronomical equipment, if applicable.
  • Present findings and progress to the team, developing presentation and communication skills.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Astronomy, Astrophysics, Physics, or a related scientific discipline.
