Precision in mixing plaster to the correct consistency, applying multiple coats evenly, and achieving flawless final finishes will be paramount. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for plaster application by cleaning, patching, and applying bonding agents.
  • Mix plaster to the correct consistency, ensuring proper adherence and finish.
  • Apply multiple coats of plaster, including scratch, brown, and finish coats, to achieve desired textures and smoothness.
  • Install and repair plaster walls, ceilings, and decorative moldings.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine plastering requirements.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding and work platforms as needed, adhering to safety regulations.
  • Ensure all work is completed to high-quality standards and within project timelines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all health and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with other trades and team members on site.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrable experience as a Plasterer.
  • Proficiency in various plastering techniques (e.g., lime, cement, gypsum).
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Excellent physical stamina and manual dexterity.
  • Solid understanding of construction safety practices and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Red Seal certification or equivalent recognized trade qualification.
  • Experience working on both residential and commercial projects.
  • Familiarity with Canadian building codes and standards.
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
