Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and professionally to dispatch calls for vehicle recovery and roadside assistance.
  • Safely operate a recovery vehicle to transport disabled vehicles, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and traffic laws.
  • Assess vehicle damage and operational issues at the scene to determine appropriate recovery methods.
  • Provide excellent customer service, offering reassurance and clear communication to stranded motorists.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and digital logs accurately, including incident reports and service records.
  • Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the recovery vehicle and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized recovery vehicle and ensure all equipment is in proper working order.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as relevant provincial regulations.

Required Skills

  • Valid Ontario G Class Driver's License (or equivalent)
  • Clean driving record (abstract required upon application)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a calm demeanor under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical capability to lift, push, and pull vehicles, and operate recovery equipment
  • Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts
  • Basic computer literacy for dispatch systems and record-keeping

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution (college or university program)
  • Previous experience in customer service, logistics, or a hands-on technical role
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or familiarity with vehicle components
  • Knowledge of the Oakridge, London, Ontario area and surrounding roadways
