Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a grocery delivery van, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Efficiently plan and execute daily delivery routes to ensure timely grocery drop-offs.
- Load and unload grocery orders, ensuring accuracy, quality, and careful handling of all products.
- Provide exceptional customer service at each delivery point, maintaining a friendly and professional demeanour.
- Verify customer orders and collect payments where necessary.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the delivery van.
- Handle customer queries and resolve minor issues professionally, escalating when necessary.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards during transport and delivery.
- Act as a brand ambassador for Asda, upholding company values and standards.
Required Skills
- Full, valid UK driving license with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Minimum of 1 year driving experience (personal or professional).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 20kg) and perform physical tasks.
- Good geographical knowledge of Radcliffe, Manchester, and surrounding areas, or ability to quickly learn.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- A clean driving record.
- Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery or customer-facing role.
- Experience driving a long-wheelbase or large van.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
- First Aid certification (advantageous but not required).
