Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, highly professional, and discreet Driver for a distinguished domestic/household live-in position in Fairfield, Montego Bay. This unique role requires more than just driving; it demands a dedicated individual who can seamlessly integrate into a private household, providing reliable and safe transportation services, while also offering support for various domestic tasks. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the comfort, safety, and punctuality of the household members for all their travel needs, whether for daily commutes, errands, or special events. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport household members to various destinations, including schools, appointments, social events, and errands.
- Maintain the cleanliness, mechanical integrity, and overall pristine condition of all assigned vehicles, performing routine checks and arranging for necessary maintenance.
- Plan and execute the most efficient and safest routes, considering traffic, road conditions, and passenger preferences.
- Assist with loading and unloading luggage, groceries, and other items as required.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion regarding all household matters and personal information.
- Adhere to all local traffic laws and regulations, ensuring a secure and compliant driving experience.
- Manage vehicle registration, insurance, and other necessary documentation.
- Be available for flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, as dictated by the household's schedule.
- Provide additional support with light domestic duties or errands as requested, contributing to the smooth operation of the household.
Required Skills
- Possession of a valid Jamaican Driver’s License (Class C or D equivalent) with a clean driving record spanning at least 5 years.
- Extensive knowledge of Montego Bay, St. James Parish, and general Jamaica road networks.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar private driver or chauffeur role for a minimum of 4 years.
- Exceptional defensive driving skills and a strong commitment to passenger safety.
- Impeccable communication and interpersonal skills, with a polite and respectful demeanor.
- High level of discretion, trustworthiness, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for vehicle maintenance and route planning.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing schedules and priorities.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Experience driving luxury and high-performance vehicles.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and modern vehicle technology.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics for routine inspections and minor repairs.
- Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
