Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Remote Technical Writer to join our dynamic team at Groupe Cegertec. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining high-quality technical documentation for a diverse range of engineering projects and internal systems. As a Remote Technical Writer, you will play a crucial part in bridging the gap between complex technical information and user understanding, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and accessibility for our clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Your work will involve collaborating closely with engineers, project managers, subject matter experts, and other key personnel to gather information and translate intricate technical details into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. This includes developing user manuals, technical specifications, process guides, release notes, API documentation, online help content, and internal knowledge base articles. We are looking for someone who can thrive in a remote work environment, demonstrating exceptional organizational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and edit high-quality technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, technical specifications, process flows, and online help content.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and subject matter experts to gather information and ensure the accuracy and completeness of all documentation.
- Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and engaging content suitable for various audiences.
- Maintain and update existing documentation to reflect product enhancements, changes, and new features.
- Adhere strictly to established company style guides, brand guidelines, and industry best practices for technical writing.
- Manage documentation projects from inception to completion, including planning, scheduling, content development, and review cycles.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of documentation processes, tools, and standards.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of internal knowledge base articles and training materials.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of proven experience as a Technical Writer in an engineering, software, or industrial environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with a strong command of grammar, style, and syntax.
- Proficiency with documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, Markdown, XML editors).
- Strong ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a remote setting.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience in information architecture and content organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Basic understanding of CAD software or other engineering design tools.
- Proficiency in French (both written and spoken) is a significant asset.
- Experience creating documentation for industrial, civil, or electrical engineering projects.
