Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy or tractor-trailer trucks, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting any defects.
- Transport goods and materials to designated locations in a timely and efficient manner.
- Load and unload cargo as needed, securing loads properly to prevent shifting or damage.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELDs) and other necessary paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or issues.
- Adhere to company policies and safety procedures at all times.
- Represent Career.zycto's partners professionally during all interactions.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious traffic violations
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screen
- Proven experience operating various types of commercial vehicles
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety standards
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs as required
Preferred Qualifications
- HAZMAT, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples endorsements
- Experience with inter-island shipping logistics
- Familiarity with Hawaii's road network and local delivery practices
- Previous experience with refrigerated or specialized cargo
- High School Diploma or GED
