We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Cashier Support professional to join our vibrant team in Alto Maé, Maputo. Key Responsibilities

  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using advanced point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Handle all forms of payments, including cash, credit/debit card payments, and mobile money transactions, ensuring proper reconciliation at the end of each shift.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, professionally addressing inquiries, resolving minor issues, and escalating complex problems to management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked checkout area, ensuring all necessary supplies are readily available.
  • Assist customers with product location, basic information, and promotional details when needed.
  • Perform daily opening and closing procedures for the cash register, including counting inventory for cash floats.
  • Adhere strictly to all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, security protocols, and customer service standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and management to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of operations.
  • Identify and promptly report any discrepancies, suspicious activities, or operational issues to management.
  • Actively participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 1 year) as a cashier or in a customer service-oriented role, preferably within a retail or service environment.
  • Excellent numerical proficiency and meticulous cash-handling skills.
  • Proficiency in operating modern POS systems and basic computer applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in both Portuguese and English.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and remain composed in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • High level of integrity, reliability, and an exceptional attention to detail.
  • A genuinely customer-centric attitude coupled with a friendly, approachable, and professional personality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Secondary school certificate (12th grade) or equivalent educational background.
  • Familiarity with basic inventory management principles and stock rotation.
  • Prior experience with diverse mobile payment solutions prevalent in Mozambique.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new systems, procedures, and evolving customer needs.
