Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IT Asset Management Coordinator to join our remote team, based in New Grove, Grand Port District. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the comprehensive lifecycle management of our IT assets, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness across the organization. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of IT hardware, software, and services, coupled with excellent organizational and communication skills. As an IT Asset Management Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining an accurate inventory of all IT assets, from procurement to disposal. You will be instrumental in tracking software licenses, ensuring compliance with vendor agreements, and identifying opportunities for cost optimization. Your responsibilities will extend to developing and implementing asset management policies and procedures, collaborating closely with IT operations, finance, and procurement teams. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entire lifecycle of IT assets, including hardware (desktops, laptops, servers, network equipment) and software licenses, from procurement to disposal.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date IT asset inventory database, ensuring all asset details, locations, and users are correctly recorded.
- Monitor software license usage and ensure compliance with vendor agreements, identifying and mitigating any potential risks.
- Assist in the procurement process for new IT assets, including validating requests, managing vendor relationships, and tracking orders.
- Coordinate with IT support and operations teams for asset deployment, redeployment, and retirement.
- Develop, implement, and enforce IT asset management policies and procedures in line with industry best practices and company guidelines.
- Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of IT assets to ensure data accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Generate reports on asset utilization, lifecycle status, and inventory metrics to support decision-making and budgeting.
- Collaborate with finance and procurement departments to optimize asset costs and identify opportunities for savings.
- Stay informed about new technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements related to IT asset management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in IT asset management or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of IT hardware and software components.
- Familiarity with IT asset management (ITAM) tools and software.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
