Job Description

National Foods Holdings Limited, a cornerstone of Zimbabwe’s food industry, is seeking an imaginative and strategic Copywriter to join our dynamic marketing team in Mvurwi, Mashonaland Central Province. You will be responsible for developing captivating copy that not only informs and engages but also drives consumer action and reinforces our market leadership.

We are looking for a creative thinker who can translate complex product features into simple, persuasive language, ensuring consistency in tone and message across all communications. Your daily tasks will involve brainstorming innovative campaign concepts, writing clear and concise marketing collateral, and adapting content for different media, including social media, website, print ads, packaging, and internal communications. The ideal candidate will possess a keen understanding of consumer behavior, market trends, and the competitive landscape within the FMCG sector. You will collaborate closely with graphic designers, marketing managers, and product development teams to bring ideas to life, ensuring all copy aligns with strategic objectives and brand guidelines. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop clear, concise, and compelling copy for a wide range of marketing materials, including advertisements, brochures, website content, social media posts, press releases, and packaging.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product teams to understand project requirements and strategic objectives.
  • Ensure all copy aligns with National Foods' brand voice, guidelines, and overall marketing strategy.
  • Conduct thorough research on industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to inform content creation.
  • Proofread and edit copy to ensure accuracy, grammatical correctness, and adherence to style guides.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for campaigns and content initiatives.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Adapt content for various platforms and target audiences, optimizing for engagement and conversion.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proven experience as a Copywriter, ideally within the FMCG or related industry.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing diverse writing styles and successful campaigns.
  • Proficiency in producing engaging content for digital and traditional media.
  • Excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong research and analytical skills to understand target audiences and market trends.
  • Demonstrable creativity and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
  • Experience with SEO best practices and content optimization.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation platforms and content management systems.
  • Ability to write in multiple Zimbabwean languages (e.g., Shona, Ndebele) is an advantage.
