Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review corporate, personal, and trust tax returns, ensuring compliance with CRA regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive financial statement compilations, reviews, and audits for diverse client portfolios.
- Provide expert financial planning and advisory services, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions efficiently.
- Develop and implement internal control procedures to safeguard assets and ensure data accuracy.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to clients and internal teams.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and industry best practices.
- Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to their professional development.
- Utilize accounting software and advanced Excel skills to streamline processes and enhance reporting.
Required Skills
- Valid Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in Canada.
- Minimum of 4 years of post-designation experience in public practice or a similar accounting role.
- Proven expertise in Canadian GAAP and ASPE.
- Strong understanding of Canadian income tax laws (corporate and personal).
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, CaseWare) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
