Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive initial evaluations and re-evaluations for patients with diverse conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based physical therapy treatment plans.
- Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, modalities, and functional training.
- Educate patients and their families on their conditions, treatment plans, and home exercise programs.
- Accurately document patient progress, outcomes, and billing information in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and assess patient response to treatment, adjusting plans as necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe treatment environment.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations, ethical standards, and company policies.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
- Current and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient education abilities.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of clinical experience in an outpatient or inpatient rehabilitation setting.
- Specialized certifications (e.g., Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS), Neurologic Certified Specialist (NCS), Certified Manual Physical Therapist (CMPT)).
- Experience with specific therapeutic modalities or treatment approaches (e.g., dry needling, McKenzie Method).
- Bilingual proficiency, particularly in Spanish or other languages common in the community.
