Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator specializing in Material Handling for an immediate start position in Flint, Michigan. This is a critical role that ensures the smooth and efficient flow of goods within a dynamic warehouse or production environment. As a key member of the operations team, you will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to move, stack, load, and unload materials, ensuring precise inventory placement and timely fulfillment of orders. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, or other powered industrial trucks to move materials, raw goods, and finished products.
  • Load and unload trucks and containers safely and efficiently.
  • Stack and organize materials in designated areas, ensuring proper inventory management and space utilization.
  • Perform daily pre-operation checks on equipment and report any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, company policies, and OSHA regulations.
  • Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate records of material movements.
  • Prepare and stage products for outbound shipments.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, supporting 5S principles where applicable.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Forklift Operator (sit-down, stand-up, reach truck experience highly valued).
  • Valid and current forklift certification.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, receiving, and shipping procedures.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness for precise material handling.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all inventory-related tasks.
  • Basic math and literacy skills to manage inventory counts and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Unwavering commitment to safety and strict adherence to all workplace safety regulations and guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience with inventory management systems (WMS) or similar software.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing or distribution center environment.
  • Ability to operate multiple types of material handling equipment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
