Key Responsibilities
- Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, or other powered industrial trucks to move materials, raw goods, and finished products.
- Load and unload trucks and containers safely and efficiently.
- Stack and organize materials in designated areas, ensuring proper inventory management and space utilization.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks on equipment and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, company policies, and OSHA regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate records of material movements.
- Prepare and stage products for outbound shipments.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, supporting 5S principles where applicable.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator (sit-down, stand-up, reach truck experience highly valued).
- Valid and current forklift certification.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, receiving, and shipping procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness for precise material handling.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all inventory-related tasks.
- Basic math and literacy skills to manage inventory counts and complete necessary paperwork.
- Unwavering commitment to safety and strict adherence to all workplace safety regulations and guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience with inventory management systems (WMS) or similar software.
- Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing or distribution center environment.
- Ability to operate multiple types of material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
