Your day will involve navigating established routes, meticulously loading and unloading packages, conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, and interacting professionally with clients. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company vehicle to deliver packages to various destinations.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries.
- Load and unload packages, ensuring proper handling and care of all items.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and manifest documentation.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers, representing Career.zycto with excellence.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and local regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customer service regarding delivery status or issues.
- Collect and process payments or obtain signatures as required.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of the assigned delivery vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid Michigan Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Proven ability to operate a commercial vehicle safely and responsibly.
- Strong geographical knowledge of Westland, Michigan, and surrounding areas.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable using GPS and delivery route optimization tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or courier.
- Familiarity with various types of delivery vehicles (vans, box trucks, etc.).
- Experience with handheld delivery devices or mobile applications for logistics.
- CDL not required, but a plus.
