Career.zycto is actively seeking a dedicated and reliable Janitorial Night Attendant to join our facilities team in Ottawa. This immediate hire position is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall presentation of our premises during evening and overnight hours. As a Night Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring a pristine and safe environment for all employees and visitors arriving each morning. Working independently for much of your shift, you will be responsible for a comprehensive range of janitorial duties across various areas, including offices, restrooms, common areas, and specialized zones. Your keen eye for detail will be essential in spotting areas requiring attention and implementing effective cleaning solutions. We are looking for someone who can manage their time efficiently, follow established cleaning protocols diligently, and respond proactively to any unexpected cleaning needs. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and waxing floors.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms thoroughly, replenishing supplies as needed.
- Empty trash cans and recycling bins, ensuring proper waste disposal.
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas, hallways, stairwells, and entranceways.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuum cleaners safely and efficiently.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and report needs to supervisor.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including proper use of chemicals and personal protective equipment.
- Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or damage to property to the supervisor.
- Lock doors and secure premises upon completion of shift, if required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in janitorial or custodial services.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, and their safe use.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs), standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Effective communication skills.
