Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test mechanical systems and components for various applications.
- Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) for 3D modeling, detailed drafting, and assembly design.
- Conduct engineering analysis, including FEA, CFD, and thermal analysis, to validate designs and predict performance.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and manufacturing drawings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, manufacturing) to ensure seamless product integration and development.
- Prototype new designs, conduct rigorous testing, and analyze results to identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and incorporating input from stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues in existing products and implement effective solutions.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA, Creo).
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles (statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science).
- Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and/or CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or actively working towards it.
- Experience with PDM/PLM systems for design data management.
- Familiarity with various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, welding, 3D printing).
- Experience in prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
