Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility, always respecting their dignity and privacy.
  • Support residents with meal times, ensuring nutritional needs are met and providing assistance as required.
  • Administer medication in accordance with company policies and individual care plans, following appropriate training.
  • Engage residents in meaningful activities, promoting social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed care records, observing and reporting any changes in residents' condition or behaviour to senior staff.
  • Ensure the residential environment is clean, safe, and comfortable for all residents.
  • Communicate effectively and empathetically with residents, their families, and colleagues.
  • Participate in regular training and development sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies and procedures.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a care-giving role (personal or professional) is highly advantageous, but full training will be provided for dedicated individuals.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for caring for older adults and a strong commitment to their well-being.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to care.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills for record-keeping and medication administration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience working in a residential care setting.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults procedures.
