Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the initial triage and analysis of security alerts and events from various sources (e.g., SIEM, EDR).
  • Accurately document incident details, findings, and remediation steps in accordance with established procedures.
  • Support senior incident responders in ongoing investigations, containment efforts, and eradication activities.
  • Monitor security dashboards and tools for suspicious activity and potential threats.
  • Contribute to post-incident review and 'lessons learned' sessions to improve future incident handling.
  • Participate in the development and refinement of incident response playbooks and standard operating procedures.
  • Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, trends, and defensive technologies.
  • Perform basic vulnerability scanning and assist in the analysis of scan results.
  • Collaborate effectively with IT, networking, and development teams during incident resolution.

Required Skills

  • Foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles (e.g., networking, operating systems, common attack vectors).
  • Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) or EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
