Key Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and commercial invoices.
- Coordinate effectively with internal teams (e.g., warehouse, sales) and external carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Thoroughly inspect outgoing shipments for accuracy, quality, and proper packaging standards.
- Maintain precise inventory records and track shipment status using our integrated warehouse management system (WMS).
- Assist in the loading and unloading of delivery trucks, both manually and using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet jacks).
- Ensure strict compliance with all shipping regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Proactively identify and resolve shipping discrepancies or issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Organize and maintain a clean, tidy, and safe shipping area at all times.
- Participate actively in periodic inventory counts and audits to ensure data integrity.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and external partners regarding shipment details and updates.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (1+ years) as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics/warehousing role.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and unwavering commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 25kg consistently.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of shipping procedures, documentation, and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; a logistics or supply chain certification is a distinct advantage.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Familiarity with international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
- Experience with specific carrier software (e.g., FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip).
- Previous experience working in a dedicated distribution center environment.
