Key Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms for patients, ensuring cleanliness and proper stocking of supplies.
- Assist physicians and other healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
- Take and accurately record vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
- Perform basic lab tests and collect specimens (e.g., urine, blood) as directed by clinical staff.
- Administer injections and medications as directed by a licensed physician, under supervision.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain equipment according to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, procedures, and general health maintenance.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and alert management when reordering is necessary.
- Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide basic administrative support as needed.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or relevant clinical training.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and human anatomy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, fostering clear patient interactions.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
