Job Description

Career.zycto is proud to partner with a renowned healthcare facility in Victoria Island, Lagos, to recruit an exceptional and dedicated Radiographer. This pivotal role involves performing diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, CT scans, and potentially MRI or ultrasound, to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. You will operate highly sophisticated equipment, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and image quality are maintained at all times.

We are looking for a professional who is not only technically proficient but also possesses excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, their families, and the multidisciplinary medical team. Your ability to explain procedures clearly, alleviate patient anxiety, and maintain a compassionate demeanor is crucial. You will be responsible for accurately positioning patients, selecting appropriate imaging parameters, and ensuring the images captured meet diagnostic standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform various diagnostic imaging procedures (X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound) as per clinical protocols.
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety standards.
  • Accurately position patients for optimal image quality and patient comfort.
  • Verify patient identification and physician’s orders before beginning procedures.
  • Monitor patients during procedures, recognizing and responding to any adverse reactions.
  • Implement and adhere to radiation safety measures for patients and staff.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of imaging procedures.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Assist with scheduling and managing patient flow efficiently.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs and continuous professional development.
  • Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their cooperation.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in operating X-ray, CT, and fluoroscopy equipment.
  • Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
  • Excellent patient care and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in imaging and documentation.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety principles and practices.
  • Problem-solving abilities and critical thinking in diagnostic assessment.
  • Computer literacy for electronic health records and imaging systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Radiography or a related field.
  • Current licensure/registration with the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN).
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Experience with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and RIS (Radiology Information System).
  • Specialized training or certification in CT, MRI, or Ultrasound.
  • Prior experience in a busy hospital or diagnostic center setting.
