Key Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs (G-code/M-code) for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis mills and lathes based on engineering drawings and 3D models.
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot various CNC machines, ensuring proper tooling, work holding, and machine parameters.
- Interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to determine machining operations.
- Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMMs).
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations and make necessary adjustments to ensure product quality.
- Select and procure appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for specific job requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to optimize part design for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
- Execute preventative maintenance on machinery and tooling to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety protocols.
- Document processes, program changes, and production data accurately for continuous improvement.
